Quick Summary

The Logitech G305 is a wonderful compact, portable wireless mouse that is very affordable without sacrificing on performance at all. Thanks to its "LIGHTSPEED" tech, the G305 boasts some very low-latency response times and is highly accurate. Combined with its "HERO" sensor that is capable of pin-point, lightning fast tracking, the G305 is an excellent budget-friendly wireless mouse for gaming and even office work. The range of the sensor is also quite remarkable, capable of being used from another room with a wall inbetween it and the sensor.

Now we won’t be getting into the weeds where we discuss the weight of the mouse, what grip styles feel the best, and all of that. Unless you’re a competitive Esports player, that won’t apply to you, if you are looking to get into said weeds, I recommend this article by rtings.com.

The Logitech G305 comes with all the bells and whistles you can expect for a quality gaming mouse to have and considering its affordability and performance, it’s really hard to find anything to top it. So, let’s look at everything it has to offer and break them all down.

Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED wireless technology ensures that the G305 has fast and reliable response times, with no noticeable lag or input delay. The HERO sensor is also very precise, offering up to 12,000 DPI sensitivity and accurate tracking on a variety of surfaces.

In addition to its wireless connectivity and high-performance HERO sensor, the Logitech G305 also boasts a long battery life of up to 250 hours on a single AA battery. It also has a convenient on/off switch and a battery indicator light, so you always know when it’s time to swap out the battery.

I should also mention that the buttons on this mouse can be programmed to perform different actions and you can even create custom macros, but you’ll need to install Logitech G HUB to do so. Depending on who you talk to G HUB is either a nightmare to use or it’s just alright, I happen to like the customizability that it allows for, but the usability/navigation leaves much to be desired.

G HUB lets you create custom macros that only take effect when it detects that specific game running, and it automatically swaps between these profiles based on what your currently selected/active window is. This is extremely nice in most cases, but it does mean that for each new game that you launch for the first time, the dreaded DPI button will be activated again, and you’ll have to go through the G HUB rigamarole all over again. But once you get used to its poorly designed interface, it’s not really a big deal.

Logitech G305 Design & Aesthetics

The Logitech G305 has a sleek and minimalist design whose symmetrical shape makes it suitable for both right- and left-handed users. It’s available in black, white, lilac, mint, and blue. The G305’s compact size and lightweight construction also make it easy to pack up and take with you on the go.

Measuring 4.6 inches in length, 2.5 inches in width, and 1.5 inches in height, the G305 is a relatively small and lightweight mouse that should be comfortable to use for extended gaming sessions. However, due to its smaller size, those with larger hands may find the G305 to be a bit cramped or uncomfortable to use for extended periods of time.

That being said, there isn’t any fancy RGB lighting to be found, so if that’s something you really want, then this isn’t the mouse for you.

Logitech G305 Conclusion

Overall, the Logitech G305 is an impressive wireless gaming mouse that delivers solid performance at an affordable price point. With Logitech’s LIGHTSPEED technology and HERO sensor, you won’t sacrifice performance for the convenience of wireless freedom. Its compact design makes it a great option for on-the-go gaming, but its ambidextrous shape may not be the most comfortable for everyone. If you’re looking for a reliable wireless mouse that won’t break the bank, the Logitech G305 is definitely worth considering
